We live in a world system that is in disarray , troubled, unpredictable and seemingly dangerous. Sometimes, it appears that Satan is reigning and evil is winning.
We pray earnestly over personal and family as well as societal and political issues endlessly it seems without answers not hearing from God. If one is not well grounded in Christ and Scriptures, there is that human tendency to be filled with worry and anxiety leading to depression and hopelessness which is not God’s will for us. At such a time and season of life, we must always remember the word of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to trust God for and with everything. “Do not be worried for your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they?. . . But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:25-34) This is a powerful message of trust in God as a panacea for those of us who have a habit of engaging in excessive worry about everyday problems.
We must daily remind ourselves as God’s people that there would always be problems in our human life and daily experiences. We don’t have to look for problems, but they are a natural part and parcel of life as Jesus Himself enjoins us. “These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage (be cheerful); I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). In order word Jesus is admonishing us that we should not be scared about life’s problem because He is already on our side to make us victorious over anything that may come our way. Life’s problems are not intended to paralyze or dislodge us but to be a learning experience so we can be more mature and have experience to share with others who may be in similar situation (2 Corinthians 1:3-5); James 1:2-5). Prayer is our powerful tool in times of trials. (Phil. 4:6-7).
